What to Expect
Before Your Massage
Before your massage it may be a good idea to shower or bathe. Wear comfortable clothing and possibly bring a hair tie or clip for your hair.
It is best to be about 10 minutes early if you are a first time customer so you have time to fill out a quick form. The form simply asks about your health and for some basic contact information.
During Your Massage
As your massage begins you will be coached on how to lay on the table and your level of undress. Usually, it is best to get fully undressed but, some people may prefer to leave on their undergarments. In either case, you will be fully draped (covered) during the massage. Only the section of the body being worked on will be uncovered and then immediately re-covered when finished.
Typically, the massage will begin with adding strategically placed Cups on the back (per your preference). These will rest here while the massage begins on the legs and feet. After working the feet and legs the therapist then moves on to the back and shoulders. At this point you will be asked to flip over and the therapist will work your arms and neck from the front (may vary per person). At times, your therapist may have you start face up instead. Depending on the amount of time you have scheduled, you may also have your legs and scalp worked on from this side.
During the massage your therapist will use hands, elbows and fingers to work the muscles, fascia (sheath around the muscles) and connective tissue. She may also stretch the muscles and joints and use an elbow to 'pin' down a Trigger Point to allow the muscle to release.
*All massages now include Mu Xing and Cupping unless otherwise specified.
*Note: Cupping may cause some marks that can last several days
After Your Massage
After your massage the therapist will discuss what, if any, concerns were found and possibly recommend stretches, complimentary therapies and/or home remedies. At this point, you will be able to pay, and if you feel it is appropriate, you may tip the therapist.
If you do not show up for your appointment there is a
No-Show Fee of $20
